Disaster Nutrition: John Steele on Blender Drinks (Guest Post!)

Blending. Yes, motherfucker, blending. It is great for you, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that it may sound kinda gay, but fuck that. Blending is the most efficient way to feed your body with nutrients. And I am not just talking vitamins here.Besides vitamins your body needs minerals, fatty acids, antioxidants, and chlorophyll.

Look, there are lots of great foods out there that taste awful. Kale for example is a food I do not like the way it tastes. But I never make a blended smoothie without it. Blending makes it fast and easy to consume fruits and vegetables fast and efficiently and enjoyably. Yes, it tastes awesome. Below it what I have 5 days a week. Yeah, I know I should do it everyday, but I slack a bit. Please try it and LMK what you think.

Here is my recipe for the John Steele Smoothie:


8 oz water (adjust based on desired thickness)

3 ice cubes

4 stalks of celery

4 carrots (peeled)

1 cucumber
3 leaves of Kale
1 banana
1 pear
1 piece of Ginger (thumbnail size)

As far as which blender to use/buy. I recommend Vitamix. I had mine for 5 years and it works great. I suggest you do your own research on which model is best for you budget. Happy blending!

Lots of people think they're eating healthy when they do the juice or blender thing, but they're basically eating five candy bars. For the ladies, I would use one banana, or maybe an apple instead.
